How long will my coating project take?
It depends on the size of the area, the repairs your slab needs, the weather, and the system selected — a straightforward garage and a cracked, previously coated pool deck are different jobs. What we can promise is clarity: before work begins, you get a clear schedule for your specific project, including when you can walk on it, move items back, or park. We'd rather give you an honest timeline in writing than a fast one in a sales pitch.
Will the cracks in my floor show through the coating?
Not if they're handled properly first. Cracks are filled and leveled during prep, before any coating goes down — coating straight over an open crack is exactly how cracks telegraph back through a finish. And the straight answer: no coating can guarantee a slab that keeps moving will never crack again, but proper grinding and repair is what keeps old cracks from ghosting through your new floor.
What prep work is included in my quote?
Diamond grinding to profile the concrete, the crack and surface repairs your slab needs, and a full clean before the base coat — spelled out in your written quote before work starts. Never an acid wash or a quick rinse passed off as prep.
How long does a coating last in Florida?
As general education: professionally installed polyaspartic and polyurea systems are commonly rated for 15–20+ years of service, while hardware-store epoxy kits and rolled-on concrete paint often start peeling within a few years — especially in Florida heat, sun, and humidity. The difference is rarely the product alone; it's the prep underneath it and whether the system matches the surface. That's why we put so much of every job into the grinding and repair.
What do I do with everything in my garage while the floor is coated?
The slab has to be completely clear so prep and coating cover all of it. Many customers pair the coating with our garage organization and shelving: everything comes off the floor once, and goes back onto shelving instead of back onto the new floor. Ask about bundling at your quote.
Who will actually show up to do the work?
Veteran Concrete Coatings is veteran- and family-owned — the business is run by its owner, Dewey, and the standard is personal: show up when we say we will, explain the work, protect your home, and leave the site clean. When you call (772) 773-2626, you're calling the company that does the work, not a call center.
What happens if rain or Florida weather interrupts an outdoor project?
Outdoor coatings — pool decks especially — are scheduled around the weather, and your schedule is confirmed before work begins. If conditions threaten a coating day, you'll hear it from us directly — clear communication before, during, and after the job is how we run every project.
Can you help me choose a color or finish?
Yes. We'll look at flake blends and color samples with you at the quote and talk through what fits your home — lighter tones that stay brighter in sun, blends that hide dirt between cleanings, and finishes that work with Florida tile and pavers. Popular starting points include slate grays, warm coastal sandstones, and blue-gray blends that pick up pool water.
