Pool Renovations • Sarasota to Naples

Pool renovations in Sarasota &
Southwest Florida.

Pools age. Surfaces stain and rough up, tile dates and loosens, coping cracks, and decks wear thin. A renovation brings the whole pool back — surface, tile, coping, deck, and the equipment that runs it.

Veteran Concrete Coatings now offers pool renovations alongside its coating work — serving homeowners from Sarasota to Naples, including Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Fort Myers & Port Charlotte.

What a renovation can include

Every part of the pool,
brought back together

No two renovations are the same. Some pools need the full works; others just need the surface and tile while the deck and equipment are sound. At your on-site consultation we look at all of it and build the scope around what your pool actually needs — nothing more, nothing padded in.

1

Pool surface resurfacing & refinishing

The interior finish takes the hardest wear — years of chemicals, sun, and use leave it stained, rough, or worn through in spots. Resurfacing and refinishing the pool surface gives you a smooth, clean interior again and is the heart of most renovations.

  • For stained, rough or worn pool interiors
  • Finish options discussed in person at your quote
  • Pool drained & refilled as part of the job
2

Waterline tile repair & replacement

The waterline tile band is where age shows first — cracked, loose, or dated tile, and grout that no longer holds. Tile can be repaired where it's sound and replaced where it isn't, updating the look of the whole pool in the process.

  • Repair of loose or cracked waterline tile
  • Full replacement when tile is dated or failing
  • New tile changes the pool's whole look
3

Coping repair & replacement

Coping is the cap around the pool edge — it protects the shell, finishes the look, and is what hands and feet meet getting in and out. Loose, cracked, or shifting coping is repaired or replaced so the edge is solid and even again.

  • Loose or cracked coping reset or replaced
  • Even, solid edge around the full pool
  • Chosen to work with your deck finish
4

Pool deck resurfacing & coatings — our specialty

This is the work Veteran Concrete Coatings is known for. A faded, cracked, or slippery deck can be resurfaced and coated as part of the renovation — or on its own — with slip-resistant finish options built for wet, barefoot Florida use.

  • Diamond-grinding prep & crack repair first
  • Slip-resistant textures for wet areas
  • Pool decks & connected lanais coated as one space

See our dedicated pool deck coatings page →

5

Finish & step updates

Steps, benches, and finish details wear at their own pace and date a pool even when the main surface is holding up. Updating worn step finishes and tired details brings those high-use areas back in line with the rest of the renovation.

  • Step & bench finish updates
  • Worn detail areas refreshed with the surface
  • Discussed and scoped at your consultation
6

Equipment pad updates

A renovation is the right time to deal with the equipment pad — aging pumps, filters, heaters, and salt systems that are noisy, leaking, or costing you to run. Equipment work can be scoped with the renovation so the pool looks new and runs like it too.

  • Pumps, filters, heaters & salt systems
  • Repairs & updates scoped with your renovation
  • One crew, one plan for pool & pad

See our pool equipment repairs page →

Every item above is assessed during your free on-site consultation — the written scope for your pool lists exactly what is included before any work begins.

Why renovate instead of patching

One plan beats five patches.

Most aging pools don't fail all at once — they fade piece by piece. A stain treatment here, a tile patch there, a deck that gets a little rougher every summer. A renovation steps back, looks at the surface, tile, coping, deck, and equipment together, and fixes them in the right order, in agreed stages.

That is also where our coating background helps: the deck is often the biggest visible surface around a Florida pool, and resurfacing and coating it properly — grinding, repair, then finish — is the work we built this company on.

Also new — pool equipment repairs

Pool equipment repairs,
detailed

A renovated pool still needs equipment that runs right. Alongside renovations, we now repair and update the equipment pad — the pump, filter, heater, and salt system that keep your water moving, clean, warm, and balanced. If something has stopped, is leaking, or just sounds wrong, start here.

Pumps

The pump is the heart of the system. A pump that won't start, loses prime, leaks at the seals, or runs loud is telling you it needs attention. We diagnose pump problems and repair or update the unit as scoped — so circulation comes back and stays back.

Filters

Cloudy water, pressure that climbs right after cleaning, or sand and debris returning to the pool all point at the filter. We inspect, repair, and update filter equipment so the water clears properly again instead of being worked around.

Heaters & salt systems

A heater that won't fire or hold temperature takes the spa and shoulder seasons away, and a salt cell that has stopped generating leaves you hand-dosing chlorine. We repair and update heaters and salt systems, and check the pad as a whole while we're there.

Signs to call

Pump won't start or trips the breaker • Leaks anywhere on the pad • Loud grinding or screeching • Cloudy water that won't clear • Heater not heating • Salt system showing no generation • Air bubbles pouring from returns.

How a repair visit works

Call (772) 773-2626 and describe what the equipment is doing. We look at the pad, find the fault, and explain the repair or update options in plain language — with the scope clear before work goes ahead.

Repairs + renovation together

Renovating the pool? Equipment repairs and pad updates can be scoped into the same written quote, so surface, deck, and equipment are finished together and the pool is handed back ready to run.

Questions

Pool renovation questions

Straight answers on timing, draining, deck-only work, and cost — before you renovate.

How long does a renovation take?

It depends on the scope. A deck and tile refresh is a different job from a full surface refinish with coping and equipment updates, and weather plays its part here in Florida. Your written quote includes the timeline for your specific project before any work begins, so you can plan around it.

Can you redo just the deck?

Yes — pool deck coatings are a core service at Veteran Concrete Coatings. If your pool surface, tile, and equipment are sound but the deck is faded, cracked, or slippery, the deck can be ground, repaired, resurfaced, and coated entirely on its own. See our pool deck coatings page for the full detail.

Do I need to drain the pool?

For surface work, yes — resurfacing or refinishing the pool interior can't be done underwater. Draining is handled as part of the job, and refilling and start-up guidance are built into the final stage. Deck-only and equipment work generally don't require draining; we'll confirm what your specific scope involves at the consultation.

What does a pool renovation cost?

Every pool differs — its size, current condition, how much surface, tile, coping, and deck work is included, and any equipment updates all change the price. That's why we don't list a one-size price: the quote is a free on-site quote, and you get a written scope and price before any work begins.

Can equipment repairs be included in a renovation?

Yes. Pumps, filters, heaters, and salt systems can be inspected during your consultation and the repair or update work scoped into the same written quote, so the pool and the pad are finished together. Equipment can also be booked on its own — see pool equipment repairs.
